CHARLES F. FAY
Age 80, of Chardon, OH, died on Monday, August 6, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Cleveland, OH. He was born in Newbury Twp., OH, on December 1, 1937, to Howard Burton and Christine (Nee: Koffron) Fay. Charles was a 1956 graduate Newbury High School and a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. He had worked as Dispatcher for the former Rimes Trucking Company in Chardon, OH.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Geauga County. He attended the Faith Baptist Church in Newbury; was a long-time member of the Geauga Aerie FOE #2261 in Chardon, where he had served as President, Secretary and Treasurer; a member of the Chardon VFW Post 6519; an avid Cleveland Indians fan; enjoyed gardening and cutting his grass. He loved spending time with friends, his family, and the late dog, Taffay.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Dave) Osicki of Leroy Twp., OH; sons, Charles Fay Jr. of Cleveland, Doug (Lisa) Fay of Jupiter, FL, Lance (Darleen) Fay of Hambden Twp., OH and David (Jennifer) Fay of Munson Twp., OH and daughter-in-law, Sonya Fay of St. Augustine, FL. 16 grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren; step son, John “Jay” Tewell of Euclid, OH; 2 step-brothers, Robert Hood of Hambden Twp., and Edward Hood of North Carolina.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lee Fay, his parents; his step-mother, Daisy Hood; son, Dani Fay; sister, Mary Jean Hood Stark; brothers, Howard “Howie” and Kenneth Fay; step-son, Thomas Tewell.
The family will receive friends from on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 8 :00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, OH. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Donations suggested to the Relay for Life of Geauga County, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
