Mrs. Brichmann was a Secretary for the Executive Director of the Geauga County Library for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She and her late husband Werner Brichmann owned and operated the Western Auto and Hardware Store at the north end of Chardon Square for many years. She was the Registrar for the State of Ohio License Bureau. Betty was an avid reader and gardener. She had a passion for rooting on her Cleveland Indians. She cherished the opportunity to spoil her grandkids. Betty enjoyed traveling to San Diego to visit her son and his family. She had a talent for sewing, making all of her grandchildren their Halloween costumes and enjoyed decorating with her daughter in law, Maureen. She is survived by her sons Robert (Merrylin) Brichmann of San Diego, CA and Todd (Maureen) Brichmann of Bainbridge Twp., OH and grandchildren Ellianna “Ellie”, Brendan and Evan Brichmann of Bainbridge, OH and Caryn (Jason) Dorfman and great grandchildren Ella and Dylan Dorfman. She also leave her faithful companions: Red and Kitty. Her husband Werner K. Brichmann, whom she married August 5, 1961 in Willoughby, died March 5. 1985. Her parents Albert and Adele (nee: Bessel) Werman and sisters Joanna Kiehl and Elsie Peck and brothers Art and Albert Werman are deceased.Her wish was to help educate her grandchildren.
