Age 76, of Huntsburg Twp., died September 30 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 11, 1940 in Valle de Allende, in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, she moved to Ohio after marrying Clark Adams while he was serving in the army at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX, June 9, 1959. Bertha later acquired her US Citizenship. She was a homemaker but worked outside the home at Capricia Creations and Briar Hill Nursing Home. She was a very active member of the Huntsburg Grange #2541 and Lighthouse United Methodist Church for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, canning, sewing, knitting, garage sales, gardening, bird feeding and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Clark Madison Adams, daughters Bertie Ford of Westerville, Patti (Jerry) Shega of Medina, and son John (Dona) Adams of Huntsburg Twp. She leaves grandchildren Andrea Adams, Blair Ford, Clark (Chelsea) Adams, Johnny Adams, Nick and Allie Shega as well as great grandchildren Mason, Faith and Grace Adams. She also is survived by sisters Maria Aragon, Marta Heredia, Martin Aragon, Antonio Aragon and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bertha was preceded in death by her son Ernest James Adams, her parents Marciano and Luz (nee: Costando) Aragon, brothers Ramona and Modesto Aragon and sisters Ana and Manuela Aragon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 3 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 at Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 14780 Mayfield Rd., East Claridon. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, October 4 at the church with burial to follow at East Claridon Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made to the church, in Bertha’s name.
