Arthur L. Wilson, Age 84, of Hambden Twp., OH, died on Wed., Dec. 17, at Geauga Medical Center.
He was born in Grenada, Mississippi, on Jan. 29, 1930. In June of 1959, he graduated with a BS Degree from Lincoln University, Missouri. Arthur married Henrietta M. Aikens in Painesville, on August 30, 1958. They are long time Chardon area residents. Arthur was a Social Worker for the Ohio Department of Youth Services, Cuyahoga County for 27 years.
Arthur was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Hambden Alliance Church, the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International and he served as President of Christ for World and World for Christ, a non-profit Christian Organization that does mission work around the world.
Survivors include his wife; 4 children, Timothy A. (Cindy) Wilson of Akron, John (Erica) Wilson of Charlotte, NC, Jean (Jay) Tager of Orwell, and Mark (Josie) Wilson of Womelsdorf, PA; 16 Grandchildren and siblings Eural (Lula Mae) Wilson of Painesville, Monteel Mercer of Kansas City, KS, Money Wilson, Jr. of Chicago, Flora Grant of Cleveland and Hardy Wilson of Chicago. He is proceeded in death by his parents Money L. and Lloyd Wilson, Sr. and 6 brothers and sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Sat. Dec. 20, 11 AM at the Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 GAR Highway, Chardon. VISITATION: Friday, Dec. 19, 1-3 and 7-9 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon and from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.
