Arthur J. Shalek age 85, of Claridon Twp. died Nov. 19, 2014 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg Twp. Born Feb. 1, 1929 in Cleveland Hts. to Victor and Helen (nee: Durecky) Shalek, he had been a long time area resident. Art served in the US Army from 1946-1948. Art married Mary Tomecheck on April 16, 1955 in Cleveland. He worked until retirement with Ohio Bell, was a member of the Communications Workers of America and served as Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 284 for many years. Arthur served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Adah Gun Club in PA for many years. He was an outdoors man, spending time on the water and in the mountains but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Mary of Claridon Twp.; son Mark (Lorene) Shalek of Claridon Twp; Daughter: Debbie Zuzek of Claridon Twp.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
