Ann (nee: Martin) Rogers

Age 77 of Burton passed away March 23, 2017 at David E. Simpson Hospice House in Euclid. Born Feb. 3, 1940 in Cleveland to William and Katherine (nee: Kock) Martin, she had been a longtime area resident. Ann worked at Heather Hill for 39 years until her retirement and worked with her brother Tom at the Chardon Coin Exchange. She was a very active member of the Burton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; an avid Cleveland sports fan; religiously participated in the Martin Family Bake Off at the Great Geauga County Fair and when her children were young, she established a 4-H equine club in Lake County. Survivors include her children Sherry (Jerry) Chafin of Newbury; sons David LeRoy Jr. of Geneva and Harry LeRoy of Newbury; 7 grandchildren: Adam, Alysa, Jessica and Abigail Chafin, Lindsey Green and Leah LeRoy and Jeremy LeRoy; great-grandchildren Bradley Chafin and Annabelle Chafin; brothers Tom (Rita) Martin of Munson Twp, Edward (Sharleen) Martin of Mesa, AZ and John (Linda) Martin of Mesa, AZ; 2^nd husband Merl A. Rogers. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Lawrence Henry “Hank” Martin and daughter-in-law Maryanne (nee: Filakosky) LeRoy. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, OH (500’ south of Rt. 6/ Chardon Square). A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Claridon Center Cemetery.
