Alfred J. Krantz, 57, of Chardon Township, passed away Oct. 2, 2011, Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.Born Aug. 15, 1954, in Cleveland, he had lived in Chardon Township since 1985, and previously in Kirtland.Mr. Krantz worked as a service manager for South East Golf Cart Company in Bedford Heights for more than 20 years.He was a graduate of Kirtland High School, enjoyed motorcycle racing and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6519 Auxiliary in Chardon.Survivors are his parents, George and Peggy Sue (Rennick) Krantz of Chardon Township; sister, ReJeana Jo (David) Moss of Dorset; brother, Edward (Debbie) Krantz of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Scheutzow) Krantz.Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor James Hayes of the Chardon Baptist Church.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
