Age 86, a life-long resident of Chardon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was born on September 11, 1927, at the former Pease Hospital on Tilden Avenue, to Roy K. and Belle (Nee: Galbraith) Willman. She graduated from Chardon High School, Class of 1945.
Kaye Willman married Harve F. “Skeet” Lyon on April 28, 1964.
As a youth, Kaye worked in the Chardon Movie Theater on the Square, and later at Kroger’s Grocery store on Main Street and the Chardon A&P. Kaye then began her career in the law enforcement, working for the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and then the Painesville Police Department, retiring after 34 years.
Kaye supported friendships and family, and was known to her children’s friends as “Ma.” She enjoyed travelling, visiting 44 states and also fishing, especially the many trips to Canada.
Survivors include her husband, Harve F. Lyon; Beth (Jay) Brindo, Becky Feigle (Mark Haas), and Bonnie (Bill) Clemson, all of Chardon, and son, Kurt (Lisa) Feigle of Chester Twp., OH; grandchildren, Sally Brindo Finger, Jay Jr., Micah, and Krista Brindo, K. Paul and Courtney B. Feigle, Jessie and Abraham Haas, Brianne Clemson Fawcett, and William L. Clemson; 6 Great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alene Bythway, and brother, Paul G. Willman, and nephew, Robert Bythway.
